THE 10-year-old boy knocked down hit by a bus outside Minehead Middle School on Tuesday has been taken to Bristol Children's Hospital for further treatment.
A statement on the school's website reads: "The pupil has been moved to Bristol Children's Hospital to ensure he makes the best recovery possible.
"He is in a great deal of pain and because he has sustained head injuries every precaution is being taken to ensure he has the care he needs.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this time."
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident around 8.45am on Tuesday morning.
The boy was riding on his scooter into school when he was hit by the bus.
The Gazette understood that the boy was due to be discharged from Musgrove Park Hospital on Wednesday but he has since been moved to Bristol Children's Hospital.
