MEET this week's four-legged friends who are all looking for their forever homes.

If you are considering bringing a new pet into your home, adopting a dog from a rescue centre will give them them a second chance at having a happy life.

All of these tail-waggers are currently in the care of St Giles Animal Rescue. More information about the dogs and how they can be adopted can be found on their website.

Nell

Somerset County Gazette:
Breed: Mastiff

Age: Two years

Nell is looking for a home that can provide her with the ongoing training and time that she needs.

On arrival Nell was nervous of the kennel environment, however she started to bond with some members of the team.

Since then her confidence has grown, but does still need improving.

Nell enjoys going out in our enrichment garden, but we are still working on her training outside on walks.

Nell is looking for a semi rural home that is calm and quiet. She would like a home with no other animals or children.

Ollie

Somerset County Gazette:
Breed: Bichon Frise

Age: 11 years

Ollie came into the centre's care due to a change in circumstance and is now looking for a forever home for his retirement years. He has been great with us at the rescue, making lots of friends with the staff and volunteers.

Ollie really enjoys going for his walks and is active for his age, he would love to go on adventures with his new family.

He does have some separation anxiety at night so will need an owner who can help manage this.

Ollie is a friendly boy who enjoys sitting next to you on the sofa and having tasty treats and cheese out of a kong.

Ollie could live with older children and potentially a calm, older dog of similar playstyle.

Miles

Somerset County Gazette:
Breed: French Bulldog

Age: One year

Miles is a sweet young boy looking for his forever home. He is a very friendly boy who loves all people.

Miles loves going for walks so would like an active family. He would also like someone to be at home most of the time to help with potential separation anxiety.
Miles enjoys finding treats in destruction boxes and licking squeezy cheese out of kongs.

Miles could potentially live with another dog pending suitable meet and greets, and he would like an adult only home.

Shadow

Somerset County Gazette:
Breed: Greyhound

Age: Five years

Shadow is a handsome boy that has come to us in search for his forever home.

He has a gentle nature and enjoys a cuddle or a treat in the form of squeezy cheese or a hotdog sausage.

Shadow loves exploring the outdoors on walks and playing in the enrichment garden. He is looking for a relatively active home, due to his breed.

He would need to be muzzled on walks and could not live with any small furries in or around the immediate home environment due to his high prey drive.

He could potentially live with another dog after suitable introductions and could also live with children 12 or over.

Zion

Somerset County Gazette:
Breed: Alaskan Malamute

Age: Five years

Zion arrived as a stray, so his past is not known.

He is a wonderful boy with tonnes for character. He loves to go for walks, or have an off lead run in the secure compounds, where he runs through the agility tunnels.

Zion is a very fluffy boy who will require regular grooming. He is responding well to training at the rescue and will benefit from someone who is willing to put in the time and effort to continue his training further.

Zion would like an adult only home where he can be the only pet.
