EXCELLENCE in the sport of tampolining earned Sophie Burr a Winner's certificate in the Pride of Somerset Youth Awards.
The 14-year-old, who comes from Emborough, near Radstock, started trampolining eight years ago with Shepton Skydivers.
She now trains for 11 hours a week while juggling her studies at Whitstone School, Shepton Mallett.
She has a full trophy cabinet with successes including a double silver for Great Britain in individual and synchronised at the World Age Championships in Holland.
She has been British under-13 and under-15 champion for the last three years and was the recipient of the National Paul Luxon Memorial Youth Award for best form.
Her award nomination reads: "She has taken the successes and disappointments as part of the learning process which has given her much-needed experience in her sport.
"Sophie's achievements are down to her dedication, talent and commitment.
"She is an inspiration to others as to what can be achieved with a little perseverance."
