SEVERAL roads in Somerset remain closed this morning due to Storm Eunice, which moved through the county yesterday morning.

Over 200 road incidents were reported to Travel Somerset, a service run by the county council, yesterday.

An amber weather warning remains in place across the coastline in the north of the county.

A spokesperson for Travel Somerset said: “We had 10 gangs working through the night on a clear-up operation - and they'll be back out this morning.

“Across Somerset, 203 incidents were recorded yesterday. We also gritted key routes as temperatures dropped last night.

“We remind people to continue to be cautious on the network – there is still a yellow warning this morning and into tonight.

“Our teams will continue to work through the weekend, but roads are now mostly clear.”
