AFTER narrowly missing out on the Championship Final game in the 2021 season, the Taunton Muskets are looking to go one step further this upcoming season.

They are hoping to revisit their successful seasons in 2015 and 2016 - where they lifted the SWWBL trophy – and the Covid-hit season in 2020 where they qualified to represent the SWWBL in the National Finals..

Taunton Muskets formed in 2013 and have gone from strength to strength ever since.

And exciting times lie ahead with the prospect of the club continuing to grow.

Taunton Muskets team manager, Jake Palmer said: "We are continuing to grow and develop as a club and we are looking to push on this year and make it to the national playoffs once again."

The Muskets pride themselves in being an inclusive club which welcomes people of all abilities, genders and ages – offering competitive game time to all.

During the pre-season the Muskets have recruited some new players and have worked hard to improve standards across the team.

This includes starting pitcher's Jake Palmer and Al Troake who have looked to improve on their impressive performances on the mound last season.

The club were delighted to host the championship final at their home ground in Victoria Park, Taunton where they welcomed around a hundred players and spectators on the day at the end of last season.

The Muskets start off the 2022 campaign away to the Bristol Buccaneers on April 10th, before hosting the Weston Jets at Victoria Park on Sunday April 24th.

As already mentioned they are always on the lookout for new players and volunteers.
