A TOLLAND musician who used the acoustics of the local church to practice his skills during lockdown is set to take part in a special concert to raise money for it.

Jesse Musson, who is part of a brass ensemble with fellow students studying at London's Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, is looking forward to performing in his home village.

The ensemble consists of trumpet, trombone, and tuba players from the Greenwich-based music and dance conservatoire.

The concert will take place at St John the Baptist church on Saturday, April 9 from 6:30pm and will feature music from the Baroque through Classical to the more modern.

Jesse has been studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire for the last three years and has specialised in the trumpet and Baroque trumpet.

He regularly played the Last Post and Reveille for Tolland’s Remembrance services when he was at school, and he used the church's acoustics to hone his skills during lockdown.

Ahead of the concert, Jesse said: "We’re looking forward to playing at Tolland and have put together a programme that everyone should enjoy."

Entry to the concert will cost £10 for adults and entry is free for children under 12.

Tickets are available from Linda Lloyd (linda@goulds-farm.co.uk).
