AN eight-year-old from Taunton jumped at the chance to DJ at a major music festival in front of VIP ticketholders and artists' entourages.
Florence Curtis, who attends North Town Primary School, went to Boardmasters Festival in Cornwall with her parents, Luke and Rebecca.
After seeing the DJ decks in the VIP stage area, Florence asked if she could have a go and got to perform for festivalgoers and band members.
Praising Florence's confidence, her dad Luke told the County Gazette: “We took Florence to Boardmasters as a present as she’s always liked George Ezra and watching him live is something she always wanted to do.
“When we were in Cornwall, we got VIP passes for where the acts hang out.
“There’s a private area where they have a DJ. Florence asked if she could DJ and they let her, and she DJ’d in front of people from the music industry.
“Myself and Rebecca are super proud of her. She loves making people happy and she loves music.
“It’s a pretty big thing to be in the VIP area at Boardmasters and DJing.”
Boardmasters 2022 took place between Wednesday, August 10 and Sunday, August 14, with Florence asking to DJ on the Friday.
‘Green Green Grass’ singer Ezra headlined on Friday night, while Disclosure and Kings of Leon topped the bill on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Other performers included Bastille, Idles, Bombay Bicycle Club, Declan McKenna, Tom Grennan, The Wombats, and Jax Jones.
