A COMPANY that provides “key services” for the NHS has expanded its presence at Westpark 26 in Wellington and now occupies two new buildings.

Patient Choice, which delivers prescription medical appliances to patients across the UK, has had its new units officially opened by the mayor, Cllr Mark Lithgow.

Patient Choice has seen a rise growth in turnover of 30 per cent and has increased staff numbers by 40 per cent in the last year.

The growth has led to half of its workforce being relocated to a purpose-built office building on the business park, alongside the opening of a new state-of-the-art distribution warehouse, which the mayor has toured.

These buildings are in addition to a third Westpark unit that is being retained for additional staff and distribution, and a team based in Essex.

Cllr Lithgow said: “I have been incredibly impressed by what Patient Choice is achieving in Wellington.

“This is a company that genuinely looks after its staff and which is providing key services for the NHS that will reduce waste and enhance patient service.

“I wasn’t expecting to see such an advanced distribution centre here on Westpark, and it’s clear that Patient Choice is establishing itself for growth.

“I have already discussed opportunities for Wellington Town Council to support the business in finding quality local staff.”

Neil Basil, managing director at Patient Choice, said: “These are exciting times for the business, and we have massive potential to double our size in the next 12 months.

“Every month we hold an open event where potential employees can see what we are offering as an employer, whether that’s in customer service, administration or logistics.

“It has been an effective way for us to meet and recruit the right type of people for our business in a transparent way.

“We welcome the support of the council and wider community, and believe that we have the real potential to become one of the leading employers in Wellington in the coming years.”
