DANESFIELD School in Williton celebrated Victorian Day to honour the roots. Year 5 time-travelled to the Victorian period to experience life as Victorian school children.
The year 5 students also dressed up their part to understand the value of a cultural less accompanied with a trop to Victorian period.
A spokesperson said :"They enjoyed dressing the part and could not quite believe the way that Victorian children would have been disciplined for the most minor misdemeanours. Much of their learning was done by repetition and copying, which was inevitably rather boring."
Boys and girls were educated differently, with boys experiencing a more academic curriculum, such as dissection of a heart in Science; while the girls enjoyed a nature walk and arts and craft with a Springtime theme in the afternoon.
The spokesperson expressed their gratitude and said :"We would like to thank parents and carers for all the effort they put in to sourcing some superb costumes, which helped to make the day a resounding success".
