STAFF and residents from a Somerset care home enjoyed a fun-filled day out at a local farm shop and café.

Barchester’s West Abbey, which is based in Yeovil, visited Hamish’s farm shop & café, delighting in an array of locally sourced treats.

They shared warm conversations over fresh bakes and hot chocolates.

West Abbey's general manager Sekhar Thananki said: "We absolutely love being able to take our residents out and about to visit local cafés and business, it makes us so happy to be able to access venues like this.

"It has been a fantastic day and we’ve all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves."

Dawn, who is a resident of the care home, echoed this, saying: "We have all had the most wonderful time visiting Hamish’s cafe.

"It is so lovely to be able to visit places like this and soak up the atmosphere.

"I especially liked the cheese scones."
