Musicians are set to come together to put on a special concert to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Nurses.

Kevin Westwood, who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and former manager of Wells Town Hall, is orchestrating the event on January 20, 2024.

After 34 years, Mr Westwood was forced to stand down due to his health.

He has since lauded the care from Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Nurses, and the professionals at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

The fundraising concert is set to be a musical extravaganza, featuring headline act Tim Pitman, known for his wide repertoire spanning pop, rock, Elvis Presley and popular opera.

Supporting will be regional fan-favourites cover band Junk Male.

There will also be an auction, featuring a laptop and bag among three other valuable items on offer.

Doors to the event open at 7.30pm with an 8pm kick-off.

Tickets are priced at £20 and can be purchased from the Town Hall reception or by contacting Merv Colenutt at 07710743642.

This is not the only fundraising effort for Kevin Westwood's cause.

His son Alex has also contributed, raising over £600 through a 24-hour gaming challenge.

Alex shared: "My dad was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in June 2023.

"He was given four months to live and as of December 2023 he's still going strong, in part due to the amazing staff at Macmillan."
