Taunton Motoring Club ended the year by raising a total of £800 for charity.

Founded in 1902, the club supports and promotes local Motorsport events, and aims to encourage safe participation.

First, the annual Christmas carvery event took place at the Allerford Inn on December 16.

The club also organised a Hillclimb at Wiscombe Park, one of its last event of 2023.

Stafford Coombes, the chairman of Taunton Motoring Group, presented two cheques of £400 each to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and The British Heart Foundation.

Mel and Alan Hardy graciously accepted the cheque on behalf of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

The second donation was received by Paul Stephens from The British Heart Foundation.

The club, initially started as the Taunton Motorcycle and Light Car Club, has been in its current format since 1960.
