A Taunton leisure centre is inviting the local community to attend its free open day this month.

Blackbrook Leisure Centre & Spa, run by Everyone Active in partnership with Somerset County Council, is celebrating the launch of its new 'Les Mills' fitness classes.

The special open day will take place on March 23.

Renowned globally, Les Mills is known for its virtual group exercise classes led by experienced trainers.

The fresh classes will include Body Pump, Body Combat and Body Balance and locals can sample these for free at the open day.

This engaging gathering, open to all ages, interests and fitness levels, runs from 1pm until 5pm.

Alongside the new classes, there will be a selection of activities to try throughout the centre, including yoga, pilates, group cycling and active wellbeing suite sessions.

Spa tours will also be available on the day.

Children have not been forgotten and there will be swimming lesson assessments and a soft play area to try.

The day will be rounded off by a charity raffle, with the proceeds being donated to Dementia UK.

General manager at Blackbrook Leisure Centre & Spa, Lucy Gray, said: "We are so excited to be hosting a free open day.

"This will be an opportunity for the people of Taunton to discover more about the fantastic facilities we have on offer, and most excitingly, try out our newly launched Les Mills classes.

"We cannot wait to welcome the local community and kick off spring with an event that encourages people to keep active and have fun at the same time!"

The Centre recommends booking in advance for this event.
