A 13-YEAR-OLD girl who has shown incredible bravery since losing her father in a tragic motorbike accident has received a special honour.
Jessica Marshall, of Bridgwater, was highly commended at Friday night’s Pride of Somerset Youth Awards – a special scheme run by Rotary International, the Bridgwater Mercury and BBC Somerset.
Jessica was nominated for the remarkable courage she has shown since her father Paul died in an accident in Bristol Road, Bridgwater, last June.
Not only has she risen to the challenge of looking after her three younger brothers and sisters, Jessica has continued working hard at school where she has remained a positive role model and kept a smile on her face.
Her nomination said she has been extremely brave and has shown personal strength and resilience which has helped not only her family, but also her peers.
