TAUNTON MP Jeremy Browne has praised the winners of the Pride of Somerset Youth Awards after attending the presentation ceremony held at Somerset College.
Mr Browne said: "The Pride of Somerset Youth Awards are an excellent acknowledgment of the contribution young people make to our county.
"The award winners displayed remarkable talent, courage and determination. It was inspirational to be able to celebrate their achievements.
"Congratulations should go to the Somerset County Gazette, Rotary International and BBC Somerset for hosting the prestigious event.
"It was also fitting that Ken Padgett and his children presented the Sandy Padgett awards. Sandy was an intelligent and thoughtful police officer who cared deeply about opportunities for young people in Somerset and I am delighted that the Pride of Somerset Youth Awards have become part of her legacy."
