THANKFULLY the weather has relented sufficiently recently to allow competition golf to return at Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club.

Saturday’s 4 Ball Better Ball pairs competition was won by Wayne Barrett and Harrison Barrett with 46 points two clear of the chasing group of three teams.

After countback however it was Emma Smith and Ian Smith who were second, Gary Wide and Jon Greenslade were third, while Jordan Mein and Kaan Felton were fourth, after they all scored 44 points. 

Three pairs also came back with 43 points, so once again countback came into play after which it was Tim Nuttall and Derek Lock who were fifth, Paul Laming and Mike Liddle were sixth and Curtis Edwards and Dan Keitch were seventh.

The T&P Seniors held their first competition of the season- the Hamp Cup on Monday a team event that attracted a large entry.

At the end of the round the winners with a combined score of 120 were David Killick, Barry Johnson, Tony Richards and Chris Engert, three ahead of Mike Crump, Kevin Snell, Trevor French and Martin Moore who returned with 118.

Two teams tied on 117 but following countback it was Ian McGown, Craig McGown, Chris Brice and Dave Riches who claimed third place ahead of John Parsons, Ken Reid, Andy Jones and Mark Hexton.

Fifth place was claimed by  John Crane, Jack Matthews, Andy Smith and Terry Davidge with 116.

Congratulations to Emma Smith and Hilary Parker who were appointed as the new Lady Captain and Vice Captain respectively at the recent AGM.

The Captain’s Drive In involving the captains of every section will be taking place at T&P on Saturday March 23rd .
