Tiverton Point to Point is back at Chipley Park

The first race is at noon and 109 entries have been received with seven races on the card and hopefully conditions will stay favourable after a dry week has been forecast.

The Ineos Granadier sponsored Mixed Open has attracted quality entries  from the midlands and Wales with prize money of £1,000 on offer, with the likely hood of Bradley Gibbs, Tom Ellis and Will Biddick fighting for the honours.

The Stoneman Engineering sponsored race has several with a chance including ex National Hunt entry Sametegal but could be taken on by some younger horses including His Own Star, who won 3 points last year, Grove Ash, if producing his form from Stafford Cross, and St Bart’s for local trainer Tom Malone.

The Clarke Willmott Solicitors sponsored maiden race for mare and fillies have many entries showing promise Including Take a Bid for Culmstock trainer Stuart Sampson and a Tipple or two from the Caroline Keevil yard.

The three-mile maiden have many with previous form with 29 entries a good race is expected on the day.

Exeter Racecourse Intermediate has 14 entered with several having been in the winning enclosure already this season, Ask the lady for Dean Summerby’s will be helped by her mare’s allowance if it turns into a battle up the gradient hill of the home straight.

The Greenslade Taylor Hunt Restricted Race  holds strong claims with horses from away But with local horses showing minor form one could spring a surprise.

The final race of the day for Novice riders is always a popular one on this course with Trainers Antony Honeyball and Leslie Jefford holding strong claims here.

The course offers fabulous trackside viewing with hot and cold refreshments, bar (payment by cash) bookies and trade stands.  Entrance is £15 per person and is cash only.

Children under-16 can come in for free and dogs on leads are welcome.
