THIS was a big week for 10 members of Running Forever Running Club who braved the warm conditions to compete in the The Dartmoor Discovery, or DD as it's affectionately known.

It is the UK's longest single lap road ultra-marathon, and is 32 Miles long. The race starts in Princetown and finishes in Princetown, with an impressive 4000-foot elevation gain.

First home for the club was the ever impressive, Dean Bennett in a blistering 4:07, and taking the 1st place in the M45 category, 2nd was Ali Bisatt who finished in 4:46 and claimed 1st in the V55 category, 3rd Male was Kris Saint in 5:47 which meant the Male team claimed 2nd place overall.

The first lady home for the club was Nicola Kelly with a rapid 5:32 and taking 3rd in her age category.

Running Forever Running Club is an inclusive running club with various weekly events. Monday is Track night, provided by an accredited coach.

Tuesday is Trail Running night. Wednesday is main club night with 10 groups available at different pace bands.

Thursday is walking group, which is aimed at those who are unable to run. Sunday`s is Allstars and Snails which are a mix of road and trail. 

Being part of the club is really great when participating in events as there is always a support crew cheering you on, and offering encouragement.

Membership costs either £27.00 a year for EA registered members (this includes the £17 registration fee which is passed directly to EA) or £10.00 a year for non-registered members, and runs from 1st April to 31st March each year.
