TAUNTON Green played host to its second Sunday of baseball on June 11th, as the Taunton Muskets Baseball Club hosted the Bournemouth Bears in another double header in the South West and Wales Baseball League.
The Muskets have settled nicely into their new home, with plans on the horizon for developing the field and a community day booked in for July 2nd, to give the locals a chance to be involved with the club.
On the field the Muskets continued their recent form, splitting the double header with the Bears, winning game one 13-9 and losing 19-10 in the second.
There were some honorable mentions in the Tricky Cider MVP stakes, with Stuart Pike and Connor Colman both having strong cases after some quality at bats.
However it was pitcher Andrés Rivas Bianco and Mark Walker that took home the cider.
"The collapse in game two doesn't take away from the performance in game one," Taunton Muskets coach Chris Cranmer said.
"Sometimes you don't get the luck, but we kept our heads up and tried to get back into the game."
