BLUEFLAMES girl boxers headed to Harringay at the weekend for the prestigious Harringay Box Cup.

On the Friday, Charlie Miller was awarded a bye through to the semi finals where she joined fellow teammate Anya Wilson.

On Saturday, Charlie was up first boxing a veteran in Jay Dijon from Left Hook ABC.

Despit Jay having 40 bouts to her name and endless numbers on national titles, Charlie, in only her second competitive season, took her much more experienced opponent to the wire and only missed out on a split decision.

Next up was Anya boxing Mia Das from Downend who is a great boxer. But Anya had to use her experience and skill level to win the bout.

She took a unanimous points win and booked her place in Sunday's final.

In that final, Anya was up a against the incredible talented Frances Coope.

They last faced off in the National Finals and the fight was a close bout and the improvement in Anya’s boxing is clear to see. Unfortunately she just missed out on a points decision.

The Blueflames ABC club in Taunton gave thanks to Dave from Wimborne ABC for his help on Saturday.
