KAAN Felton with 38 points was the winner in the top division of Saturday’s Stableford competition at Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club.

Two players came back with 35 points but following count back it was Simon Foster who claimed second ahead of John Foster  who was third.

Three players scored 34 points, so once again count back was used after which it was Shane Pulling who was fourth, Dan Keitch was fifth and Mark Langford sixth.

Tim Nuttall headed the second flight with 40 points, one ahead of second placed Jonathan West, Andy Willett was third on count back from Ian Sutcliff after both scored 38.

There was a two way tie at the top of Division Three but following count back it was Glenn Brooks who was first and Dave Stephenson was second after both carded 39 points. Jim Nation was third on 37 points and Ian Smith fourth on count back from Brett Baker after both scared 36.

Sunday’s Stableford was won by Guy Dibble with 39 points, three ahead of Iain Bowdige who edged into second place ahead of Brian Trickey after both scored 36.

Four players returned with 35 points but following count back it was  Steve Dacosta who was fourth, Geoff Dight was fifth, Ron Brown was sixth and Steve Coomber  wsa seventh.

A group of 10 T&P Seniors, plus two guests made a golf trip to the Belfry Golf Course which hosted the Ryder Cup in 2002, where they played all three courses Derby-PGA National and the Brabazon (past Ryder Cup Course).

The whole trip was a great success and on the east day the group enjoyed soaking up the atmosphere on the Brabazon course playing the same fairways and similar shots as the giants of the golfing world.

The clear overall winner for the three days with Terry Davidge with a total of 95 points. two players ties for second place - visitors Nick Walker and John Paris  while John Parsons & trip organiser Paul Davies shared third place.
