TAUNTON & Pickeridge Juniors took part in The 2023 Junior Team Golf Home Nations Inter Club Championship and went through qualifying rounds to become the South West regional winners, writes Richard Walsh.

As such, the T&P team went on to play in the England Finals against other regional winners from the North West, North East, Midlands and South East.

The finals involving eight teams were played at The Players Club, Bristol last Monday and despite the challenging, being damp and very wet underfoot after a lot of rain the previous week the T&P team gave a very good account of themselves.

On the day however it was the team from Enfield,( South East), who won and who will go on to represent England in the grand final against Scotland, Wales and Ireland next Spring.

The scores ranged from 373 to 414, lowest being the winners, and the T&P Juniors put up a great show with a score of 389 placing them fourth out of the eight team.

One of the junior organisers Jan Hill said: “Very well done to them for making us all proud.
