ON the Sunday before Christmas Enmore Park Golf Club hosted a 9 Hole Texas Scramble 9 hole competition that was followed by Festive Meal.

The winners of the competition were Eddie Ingram, Barry Woodman, Chris Lewis and Julie Stafford. The best individual lady was Lorraine Taylor and best individual man was Simon Duncan.

All of those who took part enjoyed the golf and the good company, that was followed by an excellent meal in the clubhouse provided by the catering staff.

The calendar including the main Open events hosted at Enmore Park in 2024 has recently been published.

The first of these is the Junior open on 13th April followed by the Gent’s Spring Open that will take place on 25th April, while the Ladies Spring Open will be held on 8th May.

The Mixed Open is on 2nd June, with the Pros Day on 22nd June.

The Enmore Club Championships will be taking place over the weekend of 29th and 30th June.

The Seniors Open is on 5th July and the Captains Charity Day is taking place on 27th July.

The Gents Summer Bowmaker is on 1st August with the Gents Pairs Open is on 25th August. The Ladies Autumn Open is on 4th September. 

The next social event taking place at Enmore is on Saturday 20th January 2024 when the entertainment will be provided by ‘Soul’d Out’ a lively nine piece band playing Soul and Motown Songs that you will enjoy and want to get up and dance to.

This event is open to both members and non members alike and tickets priced £11 per person are available from the clubhouse, in addition to which food will be available.

As 2024 fast approaches, the club reminded locals that membership for the year is available.

The club said: "There are many reasons to join Enmore Park Golf Club and being part of a truly great club, with a wonderful course set deep in the Quantock Hills, is just one.

"Full memberships are currently available, as are junior and intermediate memberships, along with corporate and country memberships.

"There is currently a joining fee of £200 and if you would like to see our full list of fees then please visit our website.

"Should you have any questions then we're always on hand to help. The Pro-shop is open every day of the week and the club office is open 9:00 to 5:00pm on weekdays."
