Sunday’s Stableford attracted 66 entries and was won by Steve James with 40  points. Two players returned with 39 points but after countback it was Ben Powell who was second and Adrian Ley came third.

Last Wednesday 40 members of the ladies section met to thank the outgoing Ladies Captain Jo Wyatt and to welcome Tina Morgan into the role.

It was also an opportunity to listen to the reports from the Ladies Committee with regards to the full schedule of events that took place in 2023 which included playing over 60 competitions and 20 matches.

Jo Wyatt worked exceptionally hard during her time as Ladies Captain which is reflected in the successes of the year. Jo  described her time in post as an absolute honour and privilege and a year she will always cherish.

The highlight was her Captain’s day where 60 ladies adorned the course in forces themed costumes chosen by Jo because of her past life serving in the Royal Air Force.

The incoming captain Tina Morgan in her acceptance speech highlighted her aims for the year which included ensuring that the ladies section continues to thrive and that  each lady member feels valued and included. She is excited to be starting her role as Lady Captain and hopes that all the ladies have an amazing year.

Tina also announced that the charity for the Club’s fundraising in 2024 will be Friends of Somerset Young Carers, a much needed charity  as this is a group of young people that no longer receives any Government or local Council funding.

The club will be hosting another Quiz Time on Thursday 16th February, starting at 7pm, which is open to all so grab family and friends or work colleagues and head for Enmore Park for another great evening of quizzing and banter.
